Culinary festivals also a hot trend in Italy

Italy largely owes its worldwide reputation to its cuisine. Many Dutch people spend their holidays in this sunny country, partly attracted by its fantastic culinary art. This is why many travel agencies offer holidays in Italy, for example Vrijuit. Like the Netherlands, Italy is home to a large number of culinary festivals. That's why we had to reveal some of the best! Italy is known worldwide for its pizza and pasta. In September, Naples hosts the annual pizza festival. Actually, the place to be, since Naples is the hometown of pizza. During this 10-day festival, you’ll not only enjoy the best pizzas, but you can also take part in various workshops that will teach you how to make perfect pizzas at home. At the end of this month, you can also participate in a festival entirely dedicated to pasta which takes place in the town of Foligno. Throughout the 'Primi d'Italia' festival, Foligno is transformed into the undisputed world capital of all things pasta. This event also hosts workshops, as well as stalls selling everything related to pasta, while throughout the town, chefs prepare pasta recipes of all kinds. The last good culinary festival of the month of September is the annual pecorino festival. Pienza, a small town renowned for making one of the best pecorino cheeses in the world, is the scene of a festival that takes place on the first Sunday of September. Pecorino is a hard goat cheese. The festival is an opportunity to taste and even buy this cheese from different producers. Delicious! Extra Tip: a Vegan Culinary Festival is also held every year in Bologna. It is the most important vegan event in Europe, hosting a conference and a culinary festival. These four days of festival are the opportunity to discover all the different aspects of the vegan culture. Do not miss it either!
